Lactation:
Feeding your baby is one of the initial and most essential aspects of caring for a newborn. The factor that most influences successful lactation is the presence of support (knowledge, guidance, assurance, encouragement).
As a Registered Midwife (RM) with training as a lactation consultant, my aim is to step into that space of needed support and be an accessible resource to you in your goal to breastfeed.
Lactation services are accessible through over-the-phone support, in-home lactation visits, and videoconferencing sessions. During these visits, you will receive knowledge and guidance and (hopefully) answers to any questions that may arise.
IBCLC Rates:
services are available through the following ways:
In-home lactation consult visit (60-90 mins)
Catchment area is within 30 min radius of Langley, BC
Videoconferencing lactation consult visit (60 mins)
Over-the-phone support
Visits until 8wks of life are covered fully by MSP.
After 8 wks of life: Private Pay
Lactation support should be accessible regardless of ability to pay. I have, personally, benefited from providers who offered sliding scale rates during seasons of my life, and I am grateful for their generosity.
For lactation services, I ask that families pay what they feel the service is worth to them.
